Well today I experienced first hand the lack of respect and lack of service that customer service people are giving.  It started with my day looking through  Everybody’s Business magazine (which is a local magazine which advertises for local vendors and service people), it’s a great magazine.  I found Magic Touch Cleaning and Restoration (I needed to get two arm chairs cleaned). They had a coupon in the paper two chairs $29.99 sounds great right?  I called and the guy confirmed the price and I scheduled an appt.  So the technician comes out 10 minutes to the ending of the 3 hour window they had given me, but no problem. He supposedly tests my fabric with a lighter, which is sort of funny because he couldn’t even get the lighter to turn on. Anyways, goes on to inform me that my chairs are special fabric and now the price will actually be $35 for each chair.  So I say to him, “well then I think I’m going to pass because I thought it would be less expensive”.  He says “ok well I just need for you to sign this and it will be $12 for the estimate” and someother $15 or so charge for who knows what. I laughed and said “you’re kidding me right?”  He says “no”  I laugh again and basically said to him I’m not paying you for coming out. I was told a free estimate and in addition was told it would be $29.99 for both chairs, which now you have trippled the price, so you cannot expect me to pay you. His response was “yes”. Which then I was furious and basically told him he was crazy if he actually thought I would pay him, he called me crazy and cheap and continued to mumble stuff as he walked into his truck.  So lesson is don’t believe those great deals that you read and never get taken advantage of or feel pressured to pay those techs when they raise the price on you.  And for those who go through the advertisement ads in Everybody’s Business looking for good service people don’t use them.  So that was my excitement for the day.

For anyone who ever wanted to landscape their own garden or yard, this is the place to shop for plants, shrubs flowers and a whole lot more.  They even have a butterfly encounter. (which I think is a little pricy). They have very knowledgeable people who work there that can help you tackle any problem you may be having in your garden. 

On Septmeber 22-23 they are having a butterfly and art show.  They’ll have live animals (panthers, Alligators, Eagles, etc), fine crafts and fine arts along with butterfly seminars and experts.  Admission is free but there is a $2 parking. The campus that seems “Under Construction Forever” still isn’t finished.But something big has emerged from all of that dust at the University of Central Florida.

Workers are putting the finishing touches on projects that have reshaped the campus unlike anything since the school opened its doors nearly four decades ago.
